No visit to Beer Island would be complete without a visit to Bar-B-Que Island or Chicken Island.
Operated by the legendary Chris McGee, whose culinary talents were honed at Jean-Georges and Blue Smoke (recipient of Time Out New York Readers Choice Awards for 2007 and New York Magazine's Adam Platt's list of 100 Favorite Restaurant for 2006).
Bar-B-Que Island offers authentic Kansas City Style bar-B-Que. This slow cook method, allows for the fat in the meat to melt away, and the tough connective tissue to be broken down. The meat is so tender that it begs to be pulled apart or shredded, making for a tasty mouth watering sandwich or platter. Our sandwiches are served with pickles, cole slaw and a home made sauce. Platters, include BBQ Beans, pickles, cole slaw and sauce.
Bar-B-Que Island offers Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, Smoked Brisket, Smoked BBQ Spare Ribs, The Original Chicken "Ribs" [smoked chicken leg].
We also offer a BBQ Island Burger. Cooked to your to your preference, this 100% beef burger is basted with our speciality barbeque sauce, and served with lettuce, tomato and onion. Cheese burgers are also available.
For the calorie conscious, we offer Turkey burgers, dusted with a bbq rub, it is smoked and finished on the grill.
